Mary A. McCaffity, 89, of Galion, died Sunday, July 25, 2010 at Galion Community Hospital after a brief Illness.

Born May 31, 1921 in Crestline, she was the daughter of the late Sidney Hill and Tillie (Sheldon) Hill. She was preceded in death on January 26, 1974 by her husband, Mike D. McCaffity whom she married on June 18, 1965.

She worked as a babysitter in Galion for many years. She also worked and cleaned for Dr. Switzer in Galion as well as cleaning for other individuals and businesses. She enjoyed spending time at home.

She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Irene M. (Frank) Dewalt of Galion; three grandchildren, Bill (Deb) Stevens, Sondra Barrett and Trudy (David) Close; five great-grandchildren; Casey Bassett, Cory Stevens, Miles Borders, Cody Grauer and Kyle Grauer; two great-great-grandsons; Jeadon Bassett and Casey James Borders and she is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, Emmett, Edgar and Wilbur Hill and one sister, Ida Riddlebough.

Private Family Services will be held at Fairview Cemetery.
