Lorna June James

Lorna June James, 79, of Galion, died Friday morning, July 23, 2010 at home. She had been in failing health.

Born Oct. 17, 1930 in Marion, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Clarice (Collins) Townsend. She was preceded in death on Feb. 13, 1997 by her husband, Everett H. James, Jr., whom she married on July 19, 1949.

June was a graduate of Doylestown High School and retired from the former North Electric Co. in Galion where she was a coil winder.

Surviving are one daughter, Diana K. McIe of Galion; one son and daughter-in-law, Everett “Al” (Cathy) James of Galion; six grandchildren, Freida (Sam) White, Kimberly McIe, Darrell McIe, Jr., Stephanie McIe, Malinda McIe and Chris James; 17 great-grandchildren; one brother and sister-in-law, Dick (Ara) Townsend of Marion and one sister, Carol Casteel of Cleveland.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Walter and Miles Townsend and one sister, Mary Smith.

Friends may call from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Monday, July 26, 2010 at Richardson-Davis Funeral Home where services will follow at 1:30 p.m. Monday, July 26, with Hospice Chaplain Jed Brake officiating. Burial will be in Crawford County Memory Gardens.
