Connie Noble’s store needed a change.

The owner of The Treasure House found that change in the heart of downtown Delaware.

In July, after multiple burglaries to the stores’ previous location at 186 E. Winter St., Noble decided she needed to find a safer location for her vintage and thrift wares. She opened the new store July 26 at 20 S. Sandusky St.

She said just being in the midst of Delaware’s downtown has brought in a whole new clientele.

“So far, so good,” she said. “The dinner crowd, the walk-in customers – I never got that over on the east side.”

She said she’s already seen Ohio Wesleyan Students stop in to shop.

“The college kids are back and they seem to love it,” Noble said.

The shop is filled with everything from thrift clothes and antique household items to costume vintage jewelry, Noble’s favorite items.

In her previous location, Noble was also carrying antique furniture. Her new downtown location forced her to shrink her in-store offerings due to space, but she said she hopes that is temporary and is working with the landlord to open up more space behind the current store front to allow her to carry furniture again.

The Treasure House, 20 S. Sandusky St., is open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday.
