GALION – HomeCare Matters Home Health and Hospice and the Galion Historical Society will host the Ohio Village Men’s Muffins and Lady Diamonds Vintage Baseball Teams, Sunday, June 22, from noon to 4 p.m. at HomeCare Matters Galion office, 1220 N. Market Street.
Using rules, uniforms and equipment which date back to the year 1860, The Ohio Village Muffins and Lady Diamonds recreate the historical beginning of America’s favorite pastime. They will play against teams made up of local residents.
“We’re very excited to host this event for a second year.” said Dean Heid, HomeCare Matters Development and Marketing Coordinator. ”The Galion Historical Society is providing the community with a chance to see history as it happened. For us, it’s an opportunity for patients and staff to make memories with friends and family while admiring the tree that sprouted from baseball’s roots. Bring your lawn chairs and join us for funnel cakes, popcorn, a 50/50 drawing to benefit the Society and baseball that’s a little different from the game you know and love today.”
The Galion Historical Society/Ohio Village Vintage Baseball day is free and open to the public. Parking is provided.
