What is the first thing that comes to mind when you think about Pioneer Career and Technology Center? School? Training? Jobs? We hope it is “Jobs”! For over 46 years, Pioneer Career and Technology Center has been a key player in economic vitality in your community by training students with valuable skills for the jobs in our area. Over 18,000 graduates have learned their skills from experts in their field through hands on training. That means that your community prospers because employers have a well-trained workforce. That is why, “Pioneer Means Jobs”!
To further show that “Pioneer Means Jobs”, I recently came across a website www.ohiomeansjobs created by the State of Ohio that is full of information for job-seekers and employers, including information on the fastest growing and highest paying occupations. Over 50% of the jobs listed in the high growth and high average wage area are jobs where training takes place or begins at Pioneer. Students learn skills in these areas and other career areas that will be used in their jobs every day; will be a foundation for successful careers and/or will provide a jump start into post-secondary education, apprenticeship training or military careers. If Pioneer trains students in high demand/high wage jobs for your community, then isn’t it true, Pioneer Means Jobs?!?
Now, in order for Pioneer to continue on its path of success, an important levy is on the ballot this November. Pioneer is seeking a replacement levy in order to maintain the current quality of education to strengthen job prospects for graduates and make them more attractive to potential employers. My staff and I will be visiting the communities we serve of the next several months to share the value that Pioneer brings to all of our communities and the region.
So now when you think of Pioneer, you know that Pioneer Means Jobs! Check out our community led effort to spread the word about Pioneer and the November 4th levy at www.pioneermeansjobs.com
