Members of Iberia Presbyterian Church partnered with GOBA and Washington Township to host what was to be a noon-time stop for bicycle riders enroute from Mount Vernon and Johnsville. The first riders stopped at 8:30 a.m.! Fortunately, the group had trail mix and fresh fruit, though nothing was on ice yet.

In addition to lunch and snacks, the group offered tours of its church, the last remaining building from Ohio Central College. Washington Township’s recreation area on the former site of Iberia Elementary School was equipped with portable potties and a first aid station for those in need of them. Representatives of the Morrow County Sheriff’s Office traveled the route as it wound through the area, assuring the safety of the riders. (Inquirer photo/Patty Rice Groth)
