St. Paul’s United Methodist Church asked the community to “Feed the Hungry” on Sunday, Aug. 24. It was a concert held at Galion Primary School.
The Moonlighters headlined the concert. It is a quartet consisting of Rusty Cates, Dalton Derr, Dirk Eachus and Michael Miller. The audience was also treated to performances by the Café Group (another four-piece ensemble), Lynda Wenzel, the Musical Junction Performance Company, Poth Family Singers, Eachus Family Singers, Amy Forrest, Nate Sherer and Johnnie Mayes.
Ticket sales and donations benefitted the church’s food pantry, open every third Saturday of the month. Pastor Ash Welch noted there are several other food pantries serving the Galion community, including at the Community Action Center and First Presbyterian Church (administered by Cooperative Christian Services of Galion).
