BUCYRUS — The annual sale of champions at the 2014 Crawford County Fair was a roller-coaster ride for everyone – exhibitors, bidders and auctioneers. Some records were broken, while other rounds of bids languished. Craig A. Miley served again as the master of ceremonies for the event, assisted by fellow auctioneers Tom Brause, Rick Fogel, Rick Stuckert and Chad Gebhardt.

The real work begins at county fair

By noontime on Sunday, the Crawford County Fairgrounds were full of youngsters of all ages preparing their livestock for the Junior Fair. Each of these dairy feeders had to endure a bath, brushing, and a weigh-in before the real work of earning championship ribbons for their 4-H club and/or FFA chapter owners began. In other barn areas, hogs, sheep and goats were undergoing similar check-in procedures.
