Auction to benefit Harvey One-Room School

On Sept. 10, an auction of farm-related goods, and vintage items is scheduled to benefit Harvey One-Room School.

The site of the auction is at 1020 Caldwell Road, Bucyrus, Ohio, at the Harvey Homestead Barn.

Auction chairmen, Diane and Randy Fortner are currently gathering old pieces of rural and farm life. They are sharing a list of suggestions to encourage Crawford Countians and all area individuals, to reach out with support. Some ideas are oil lamps, crocks or pieces of pottery, quilts, tin toys, tools, scales, trunks, crates, vintage dolls, shutters, doors, primitive cupboards and furniture, treadle sewing machines, wash tubs and boards, sap buckets, barrels, baskets, pulleys, sleds and sleighs, antique greeting cards, frames, prints, or early maps and charts, and advertising signs.

The Fortners would like to talk to anyone who is willing to provide a treasure which might come from family collections, old buildings, or efforts to clean or down-size. After April 1, descriptions of each item will begin being placed in a listing on the school’s website: harveyoneroomschool.com.
