A long-time Galion community figure died Saturday.

Mary Court, 71, had served as a librarian as well as recently as the Galion Historical Society President of its Board of Trustees.

The Galion Historical Society posted the following tribute on its Facebook page Saturday.

“It is with great sorrow that we share grievances with the Court family on the passing of our esteemed President of the Board of Trustees,” the post said. “Mary was an amazing individual who left quite an impact on our community. The Historical Society would not be where they are without your leadership. Thank you for your devotion to the organization, you will truly be missed.”

Arrangements are in care of the Richardson Davis Chapel of Snyder Funeral Home in Galion.
