Daughters of Union Veterans of the Civil War holds February meeting

The Daughters of Union Veterans of the Civil War, Tent 91, Galion, met for its regular meeting Feb. 2 at the home of Lois Rinehart. Judy Sanders, past tent president, presided over the meeting.

Communications included an invitation to the Lincoln Day Dinner to be held February 14, hosted by the SUVCW and a thank you and donation from member, Linda Sidell.

Relief report consisted of: 32 flowers for deceased, two flowers for the ill, 17 personal visits, 189 cheer cards sent and 185 volunteer hours.

Discussion was held on the Campfire Program for the Department Convention in June. Food for the evening was also discussed.

It was reported that the work to reset two veteran’s grave markers at the Fairview Cemetery was completed.

New business brought the presentation of an application for membership into our tent. The application of Heather Callahan was turned over to the verification committee for processing.

With no further business, the meeting was closed till next month. Mystery gift was won by Lois Rinehart. Refreshments were served by Judy Sanders.
