‘Carnival of Animals’ heading to Renaissance

0

On Sunday, Jan. 31, the Renaissance will present its second Teddy Bear Concert of the season, Carnival of Animals. Renaissance actors Maddie Beer and Colton Penwell will team up with Mansfield Symphony musicians for an imaginative trip to the zoo.

This interactive concert features an original script written by Renaissance Artistic Director Michael Thomas accompanied by the classic “Carnival of Animals” music by French composer Camille Saint-Saëns. Part of the Mechanics Bank Education Series, the concert begins at 2:30 p.m.; doors open at 2 p.m.

Inspired by the Kennedy Center’s family programming, the Ren Teddy Bear concerts are set up to allow children an up-close experience with symphonic instruments, live acting and basic musical concepts. To provide the most engaging performance possible, the Teddy Bear series can accommodate only 100 concert-goers and their very favorite teddy bears, so these onstage seats fill quickly—grab Teddy and pick out your seats at mansfieldtickets.com. (Teddy Bears enjoy free admission for this series only). For more information on this event or other Renaissance Education programs, contact the Education Department at419-522-2726, ext. 251 or visit www.mansfieldtickets.com.
