Twenty-nine Bucyrus students received commendations for their artistic abilities during the regular Board of Education meeting Nov. 19. Students receiving commendations included: Phillip Amerine, Melody Brown, Kaitlynn Chestnut, Breanna Fry, Abbie Heckert, Brandon Hildebrand, Alissa Johnson, Sarah Lipscomb, Haylee McKinney, Tyson O’Brien, Nicolas Ruckman, Alexis Schifer, Daulton Shope, Jasmine Sweeney, Kristen Vaughn, Tabitha Delaney, Layla Ellis, Mirium Everett, Makyla Ferris, Christina Johnson, Alex Knecht, Sophia McAdams, Jessica Mahley, Jesse Matthews, Caleigh Rister, Evelyn Skidmore, Bella Stang, Dylan Trowbridge and Julia Van Voorhis

The students’ artwork was selected by Bucyrus art teachers Mr. Michael Striker, Mr. Scott Mental and Mr. Patrick Moore to be displayed in the main hallway of the Lincoln Administrative Building for a three-month period.

“We are very fortunate to have a strong visual arts program in our district,” Superintendent Kevin Kimmel said. “We have many students with phenomenal artistic abilities, and it is a great pleasure for us to be able to display their works in our administrative offices.”
