* Last week, the Ohio Senate passed HB 237 by a vote of 32-1. This bill would provide uniform, statewide standards and protect ridesharing services such as Uber and Lyft from additional local regulations.

Last week, Generation Opportunity Ohio delivered over 1,000 petitions signed by young Ohioans encouraging the Ohio Senate to pass the bill and send it to the desk of Gov. Kasich.

Generation Opportunity Ohio State Director Alex Goodman issued the following statement:

“We commend the Ohio Senate for passing meaningful ridesharing reform. Young Ohioans made their voices heard, and the Senate listened. Now it is up to Gov. Kasich to sign HB 237 into law. We can’t wait any longer to implement statewide standards to clear the way for thousands of jobs and to streamline ridesharing in the Buckeye State.”

* The University of Findlay’s Master of Science in Health Informatics program is anticipated to be one of the top online offerings in the nation in 2016 by OnlineColleges.net.

The Master of Science in Health Informatics at UF is based on the science behind electronic health records, which are essential to healthcare delivery, patient safety, public health and public policy formation. All courses are conveniently delivered in eight-week blocks. Degree earners can choose from a variety of careers available in fields such as pharmacy, imaging, genomics and telemedicine.

* Kevin Renshler, Ph.D., has been hired as The University of Findlay’s College of Business dean. He began serving as interim dean in August following the retirement of former Dean Paul Sears, Ph.D.

“Dr. Renshler’s leadership on an interim basis has already greatly benefited the College of Business and this University as a whole,” said President Katherine Fell, Ph.D. “His ambitious goals for enhancing our business programs, combined with upcoming construction of our new Center for Student Life and College of Business building, will enhance the preparation of UF students for leadership roles in the global economy.”

Darin Fields, vice president for academic affairs, is also looking forward to changes under Renshler’s direction. “Dr. Renshler is an excellent choice for long-term leadership of the College of Business,” he said. “Working with our dedicated faculty and staff, he will bring a strong sense of urgency and innovation to our programs, and an approach centered on student success at every level.”
