The Leesville Grange #2078/Crawford County Pomona Grange #36 potluck picnic was held at Lowe-Volk Park on June 16 at 6:30 p.m. Chaplain Dorothy Eckert offered prayer before the meal.

There were several activities that took place during the evening.“What’s Happening-Past, Present and Future at Lowe-Volk Park?” was the title of the lecture presented to atendees.

Crawford County Park District Director Bill Fisher was there to pass out copies of the newsletter Trails. Bill Fisher spoke about the recent re-enactment of the capture of Col. Crawford held at Lowe-Volk Park.

He introduced Logan Masters as a new naturalist who is working at Lowe-Volk Park and that 185 different species of birds have been banded by the staff over the past several years.

Splash Makers of Mansfield is designing an interactive treehouse to be constructed in the Lowe-Volk Park Nature Center, which will focus on hands on nature learning for children.

Barb Van Scoit and Don Graf participated in Relay for Life held at Wynford High School.

The next Leesville Grange meeting will be held at the Jefferson Twp. Fire Dept. on July 7 at 7:30 p.m. Grange booth plans will be finalized. The lunch provided will be a create your ice cream sundae.
