GALION — Galion’s Lady Tigers didn’t win their third-straight girls team title, but a tradition of individual champions for Galion High School continued as Raygann Campbell won the girls race at Saturday’s annual Crawford County Cross Country meet at Amann Reservoir. Her winning time was 19:47.65. That effort helped her team to a second-place finish behind Colonel Crawford in the girls team standings.

The Lady Eagles won the team title with 26 points, followed by Galion with 36, Wynford (68) and Buckeye Central (110). Neither Bucyrus nor Crestline had enough runners to field a whole team

Campbell, only a freshman, was joined in the Galion scoring by Brooklyn Gates (4th in 21.02.22); Zayhah Tate (8th in 22:15.44); Emily McDonald (11th in 22:46.87) and Ava Smith (12th in 22:47.35).

Colonel Crawford’s Cece Chase finished second in the girls race, in 20:32.44. Her teammate, Ally Hocker was third in 21:01.28, followed by Allison Manko (5th in 21:36.30 and Izzy Roston (6th in 21:44.98) and Maria Smith (10th in 22:27.04).

Wynford won the boys team title, with 39 points, followed by Colonel Crawford (52); Galion (59); Bucyrus (90); Buckeye Central (113). Crestline did not field a full team.

Kaden Dunford won the boys race with his time of 17:48.26. Teammate Caden Pollock was second in 18:03.94; followed by Ryan Ruth (8th in 18:47.30); Soren Gerlach (12th in 19:18.41); and Neil Groth (17th, 19:43.18).

The Eagles’ top five runners were Luke Lawson (5th in 18:33.65); Jacob Hoffman (7th in 18:45.57); Mason McKibben (9th in 18:54.99; Trent Risner (13th in 19:28.24) and Gavon Trubee (19th in 20:00.06).
