The Galion Police Department is warning residents about a scam phone call that has hit various homes in the area Thursday.

According to officials, the caller identifies himself as “Steve Martin” and indicates he works for the U.S. Treasury and says there is a judgment against the person they are calling and would threatens legal action or arrest if funds are not paid.

Police are saying this is a scam and not to give any personal information to the caller.
