Galion police were part of a chase Wednesday night in the city.

According to Police Chief Brian Saterfield, officers went to South Street at 10 p.m. Wednesday to check on a suspicious vehicle.

He said when officers arrived, two white males got in the car and sped off.

“Our officers started a vehicle pursuit that led to the suspect vehicle turning its lights out and then entered the Archery Club at the end of Boston Street,” Saterfield reported. “The suspects fled on foot into the woods. Our department was assisted by Ohio State Highway Patrol, Crawford County Sheriff’s Department and Morrow County Sheriff’s Department in an attempt to find them. They were never found.”

Saterfield said it was later discovered that the vehicle they were driving was stolen in Clinton County and that there was a residential burglary where the vehicle was stolen.

“Our department has been working with Clinton County Sheriff’s Office all day on this joint investigation,” he said. “At this time I have no other information on the two suspects, other than they are two white males.”
