A search warrant Thursday on South Market Street in Galion resulted in two arrests for drug trafficking.

According to reports, the warrant was the result of an ongoing criminal investigation into drug trafficking and officers located drug paraphernalia as well as evidence of trafficking in drugs.

Police arrested Janessa Dotson, 26, and Thomas Kouns, 36, on Trafficking in Heroin and Permitting Drug Abuse and transported them to the Crawford County Jail.

Galion Police Chief Brian Saterfield said the criminal investigation has been sent to the Crawford County Prosecutor’s Office for the filing of formal charges.

“Our officers and detectives continue to work together and in cooperation with our neighboring agencies to make our neighborhoods safe,” Saterfield said. “You know that you are doing the right things when neighbors as well as the local community drives by during one of these events and they give you a Thumbs-Up and actually tell you “Thank You” as they drive by.”

This marks the seventh drug bust in Crawford County in the past two weeks.
