GALION — Galion Middle School students and staff are conducting a canned food drive to benefit the Ohio Heartland Community Action Commission in Galion. The drive ends Nov. 20.

Students can donate canned food items and earn dress code incentives. Students who donate one can of food can wear jeans, while those who donate two items can wear a hoodie and jeans and students who donate three cans or more can wear a hat, hoodie and jeans. These items can be worn Tuesday, Nov. 21.

“This project was developed by our Service Learning class,” said Joe Morabito, middle school principal. “Mrs. Mira Zeisler and her students are doing a tremendous job identifying ways that they can have a positive impact on our school and the community.”

Community members are encouraged to donate canned food items to the Middle School during regular school hours of 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Please call the Middle School office at 419-468-3134 for additional details about this service project.
