Chamber looking to ‘Stuff the bus;’ school supplies will help area students

GALION — With the start of another school year just around the corner, the Galion-Crestline Area Chamber of Commerce is doing a donation drive called “Stuff the Bus.”

Several Galion businesses have partnered with the chamber to be drop-off sites, including the City of Galion. Yellow collection boxes are at the Municipal Building, Galion Fire Department, and the city utility office.

You can bring new school supplies to donate at any participating business or the Chamber office, 138 Harding Way West.

A final collection drive will be held during the next Third Friday in Galion event on Aug. 18.

Items collected will be given to officials from Galion City Schools and St. Joseph Catholic School that evening, to be distributed to students in need of supplies.

Suggested supplies: Glue (Elmer’s glue bottles and sticks); Crayola Washable Markers; Crayola Crayons (8, 16, and 24 count); Dry Erase Markers (black and color); No. 2 pencils; scissors; pocket folders (with and without prongs); spiral notebooks (wide-rule and college-rule); loose-leaf notebook paper; erasers (white bar and pencil tips); blue and black pens; binders (10inch and 1½ inch); note cards; highlighters; Scotch Tape; pencil bags; school boxes and rules.
