GALION POLICE

May 31

12:31 a.m. — After a report of suspicious activity near Baehr Street and Seventh Avenue, police arrested a man on a warrant from Wyandot County.

8:13 a.m. — 900 block of Charles Street. A tree being cut down fell in the road and knocked down a power line. The line department was notified.

5:03 a.m. — A resident called and told police a dog was accidentally locked in a car in the 300 block of Neumann Avenue. The dog was safety extracted.

7:49 p.m. — A car hit a pole near the intersection of West Church and Union streets and flipped over. A citation was issued to the drive of the car for failure to control.

11:32 p.m. — Two warnings were given to a man for reckless driving and driving through the grass after an incident hear the basketball courts at Heise Park

May 30

1:10 a.m. — A resident in the 100 block of East Church Street requested help getting a bat out of the house.

2:09 a.m. — A man was detained by police after police received a call about a man who had been in a car in the 400 block of Portland Way North for several hours without moving. Suspected drug paraphernalia was found in the vehicle.

8:15 a.m. — 300 block of Pine Street. A caller reported his truck was hit while parked along the road.

12:51 p.m. — A woman reported being assaulted by a relative after being evicted from a residents in the 300 block of Eighth Avenue. Police said there was no physical assault.

3:41 p.m. — An employee of Innovative Recycling reported the business had been broken into.

3:58 p.m. — A residence in the 300 block of North Columbus told police his car was borrowed by a sister-in-law about a year ago and she says she won’t give it back.

6:28 p.m. — An unruly juvenile was reported in a yard in the 1100 block of North Market Street. Police said the juvenile gave up the ax and they left.

May 29

2:38 p.m. — A resident in the 200 block of West Atwood reported that someone came into residence and stole a wide screen TV.

6:37 p.m. — A bench was reported from property in the 1700 block of Ohio 61.

6:41 p.m. — The T-ball shed at South Park was reportedly broken into and a portable toilet was overturned.

10:27 p.m. — A caller reported being threatened with a knife and a friend being physically threatened in the 500 block of East Church Street.

May 28

2:28 a.m. — After police responded to a report of noisy neighbors, police talked to the alleged noisemakers and they agreed to be more quiet.

10:39 p.m. — Police responded to a report of an alligator in the creek at Heise Park. They determined the gator was actually a rock.

12:50 p.m. — Police received a call that a transformer on a pole in the 400 block of Grant Street had blown up. The line department was notified and they suspected it was a blown fuse.

7:28 p.m. — Police investigated a report of someone burning grass and yard clippings that smelled really bad. Officers were unable to find the fire.

May 27

12:24 p.m. — A resident called complaining about a camper always taking up two parking spaces in the 400 block of North Columbus Street.

8:15 p.m. — A resident reported that her son, who had been kicked out of the house, had returned to the house in the 700 block of South Street and tore up her living room and ripped a security system off the wall.

9:01 p.m. — A man described as having mental issues was detained after exhibiting suspicious behavior in the 300 block of East Parson Street. He was released after he calmed down.

May 26

5:40 p.m. — An employee of Goodwill on Carter Drive reported an employee had stolen from the store and they wanted her removed.

May 25

12:09 a.m. — A caller reported a relative had rammed his care into a brick wall.

8:19 a.m. — An employee of Galion Pointe, 925 Wagner Ave., reported a resident threatened to get a bomb and blow up the building.

11:13 a.m. — Sewer pumps were reported stolen from the Rainbow Hotel on Charles Street.

5:17 p.m. — Police arrested a man in the 200 block of Harding Way East who was reportedly stumbling all over and trying to get into cars.

6:20 p.m. — Police investigated a report of a man in the 10 block of Harding Way East who reportedly threatened to kill a relative.

11:48 p.m. — Police responded to a residence in the 300 block of Eighth Avenue after someone called and said the unit was filled with smoke and a man was passed out inside on a couch. A man was taken into custody and later taken to the hospital to get an injured hand treated.

May 24

12:23 a.m. — Police responded to a report of a loud part in the 600 block of South Market Street. They told the noisemakers to quiet down, and they agreed to do so.

3:57 p.m. — A caller reported being hit in the face by a relative in the 300 block of West Railroad Street.

May 23

12:28 p.m. — A man in the 500 block of McDonald Avenue told police he was scammed on eBay. He told police be bought a truck and never received it.

6:08 p.m. — Police responded to the 200 block of Seventh Avenue after receiving a report of a man with a gun, sitting in a vehicle with a hose from the exhaust pipe going into the vehicle. Police and Crawford County deputies arrived on the scene. The man asked to speak with a local minister, who then advised police that the man did not have a weapon. The man was taken into custody.

May 22

3:15 p.m. — A caller reported being assaulted in the 800 block of South Market Street by a relative’s boyfriend.

3:58 p.m. — A resident in the 100 block of Wilson Avenue reported that in the past few days someone had stolen a ladder, weed-eater and a tool bag full of tools.

May 31

5:17 am — Officers assisted the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office with an alarm at Tractor Supply Company.

6:33 am — A Waterford Glen resident reported her vehicle entered overnight and property stolen.

8:37 am — A Bucyrus resident reported her jeep window broken out of and a pack of cigarettes stolen while parked in the 200 block of E. Mansfield St.

11:50 am — A badly injured cat was dispatched in the 400 block of W. Beal Ave.

1:37 pm — Officers spoke to a motorist who was driving recklessly on E. Beal Ave.

2:35 pm — Officers spoke to an unruly 10-year-old in the 400 block of Woodlawn Ave.

2:36 pm — A report of a hit-skip in the 500 block of W. Charles St. was taken.

3:12 pm — Officers checked the welfare of a driver laying across his steering wheel in the Walmart parking lot.

3:16 pm — A domestic disturbance in the 800 block of Wilbur Street was investigated.

3:19 pm — A resident in the 1400 block of Cullen Court reported her husband’s truck broken into last night.

3:34 pm — An employee at CVS reported a juvenile shoplifting from the business. The juvenile ran from the area before officers arrived. Officers are investigating.

3:57 pm — A resident in the 900 block of E. Warren Street reported being threatened by an acquaintance.

6:23 pm — A resident in the 1400 block of Silverlake Drive reported a vehicle entered overnight and items stolen.

6:59 pm — A disturbance between neighbors regarding trespassing on property was investigated in the 400 block of N. Walnut Street.

11:16 pm — A report of a group of suspicious people on bicycles in an alley in the 300 block of S. Sandusky Ave. was investigated.

11:29 pm — Officers investigated a hang up 9-1-1 call in the 500 block of E. Warren St.

May 30

6:00 am — A resident in the 200 block of W. Mansfield St. reported someone tried to get into her daughter’s vehicle.

12:21 am — Stacy Higginbotham, 32, was arrested on a warrant out of Crawford County. She was released with a court date.

May 29

1:01 am — A 45-year-old woman was arrested on a warrant out of Tiffin after officers were called to a disturbance in the 1000 block of Tiffin Street. She was taken to Crawford County for Tiffin authorities.

5:34 am — A 43-year-old man was arrested on charges of menacing after reportedly threatening another subject in the area. He was issued a summons to appear and transported to the Crawford County Justice Center to be held for a probation violation.

9:57 am — Officers investigated a report of a vehicle that struck a parked car in the 100 block of South Poplar Street. No injuries were reported.

9:13 pm — A resident in the 500 block of West Charles Street reported catching two children trying to break into his vehicle.

10:11 pm — A report of a fight in the East Rensselaer Street area was investigated.

May 28

3:42 am — A report of a suspicious person in the 300 block of Clark Street was investigated.

9:51 am — A 47-year-old man was arrested in the area of Irving and Tiffin streets on charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated, open container, driving under suspension, failure to comply and a stop sign violation.

11:54 am — An 18-year-old Bucyrus man was arrested on a falsification charge, warrant and possession of marijuana. He is being held on the warrant.

1:04 pm — A 44-year-old woman was arrested in the 1800 block of East Mansfield Street on charges of theft. He was issued a summons to appear in court and released.

2:51 pm — A report of a stolen vehicle was taken in the 400 block of Sheckler Street. The vehicle was found by Crawford County Sheriff’s Office.

4:32 pm — A theft report was taken in the 500 block of Wedgewood Court.

May 27

10:17 am — Officers investigated the report of a disorderly person in the 600 block of North Lane Street.

11:47 am — Officers assisted Bucyrus Fire Department at an open burn in the area of Wingert and Plymouth streets.

11:46 am — A report of a possible child abuse was investigated in the Washington Square area.

1;35 pm — Officers took a report of a breaking and entering in the 100 block of West Perry Street.

5:35 pm — A report of a fight at Aumiller Park was investigated.

11:40 pm — A 47-year-old man was arrested on charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated and possession of marijuana. He was issued his paperwork and transported to the Crawford County Justice Center to be held until sober.

May 26

2:47 am — Officers investigated a report of a suspicious man in the 1000 block of Lavina Avenue. 2:47 a.m.

3:15 amOfficers investigated a report of a suspicious man in the 500 block of Gay Street. 3:15 a.m.

10:05 am — A 1998 Dodge Ram truck, License plate GQL1653, was reported stolen from the 400 block of South Spring Street.

11:22 am — A 48-year-old woman was arrested in the 1100 block of East Mansfield Street on charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated and open container after officers were called to the area for a report of an erratic driver. She was issued her paperwork and released to a sober party pending a court appearance.

11:31 am — A burglary report was taken in the 1000 block of Lavina Avenue.

12:33 am — A theft report was taken in the 200 block of West Mansfield Street.

3:19 pm — A burglary report was taken in the 1000 block of Lavina Avenue.

5:15 pm — A 38-year-old man was arrested in the 300 block of East Charles Street on a Huron County warrant. He was transported to Crawford County Justice Center to await transport to Huron County.

9:13 pm — A domestic dispute was investigated in the 600 block of Prospect Street.

10:47 pm — A domestic dispute was investigated in the 700 block of Prospect Street.
