Clarification of May 7 story about Walk to Prevent Suicide


BUCYRUS – An article in the May 6, 2017 Galion Inquirer previewing the May 13 Walk for Suicide Prevention in Bucyrus included information about the death of Brandon Baxter III.

The Inquirer reported that Baxter committed suicide in August 2016.

The Inquirer has since received a copy of Baxter’s autopsy from the Franklin County Coroner’s Office.

The report from the office of Anihi M. Orti in Columbus lists the “immediate cause of death” as “undetermined.”

It also lists the “manner” of Baxter’s death as “undetermined.”

Baxter’s death was investigated the Bucyrus Police Department. The autopsy was performed by J. Scott Somerset, a forensic pathologist.
