Galion police calls — May 9, 2017

May 8, 2:46 p.m. — Officers responded a domestic dispute in the 600 block of South Union Street.

May 8, 5:35 p.m. — Officers responded to an alarm going off at Poland True Value Hardware. The building was secured.

May 8, 8:53 p.m. — Officers responded to a child custody dispute in the 1,400 block of Baehr Street.

May 9, 7:32 a.m. — Officers responded to Ralphies because an employee there had apparently been threatened by someone who vowed to wait in the parking lot until the employee left.

May 9, 5:18 p.m. — An officer told police a woman had signed her daughter out of Galion Middle School on April 21 and took the girl to Columbus. The complainant said she didn’t want that woman anywhere near her daughter.

May 9, 6:27 p.m — A worker at K&B Laundromat on Harding Way East reported to police that someone dropped off a blanket to be washed,and whey the blanket was unrolled a loaded gun fell out.

May 9, 6:40 p.m. — Officers investigated a possible break-in in the 100 block of Pounder Avenue. Police got video of some kids apparently trying to break in. A possible suspect told police he was not trying to break in, but that he was running from some other kids who wanted to him to fight.

May 5, 8:52 a.m. — Officers picked up a young child who was reported walking in the 800 block Harding Way West. She told police her dad made her walk to school because she missed the bus. Children Services was contacted.

May 5, 9:54 a.m. — Police investigated a domestic dispute in the 600 block of Fairview Avenue.

May 5, 2:8 p.m. — Police responded to a report of an unruly child in the 100 block of Third Avenue. The child’s father arrived and took the kid home.

May 5, 8:30 a.m. — A resident in the 200 block of Jan Court told police someone stole the battery out of his vehicle.

May 5, 8:44 pm. — A resident called police and told them someone drilled a hole in the gas tank of his vehicle.

May 5, 9:45 p.m. — A hit-skip accident was reported in the parking lot of Dollar Tree, 252 Portland Way North. A vehicle was hit, the driver of the other vehicle took off, and the car remaining was not able to be driven.

May 5, 9:08 a.m. — A report was taken in the 100 block of South Market Street about a vehicle hitting two parked cars and then taking off.

May 6, 10:22 a.m. — Charges are expected to be filed again a teen for an open container violation after a resident complained about people sitting in the 200 block of Railroad Street and drinking in a vehicle.

May 5, 3:50 p.m. — Police investigated a report that two people got into a house in the 700 block of South Boston Street and trashed the place.

May 7, 1:44 a.m. — Officers responded to a report of a fight and an assault and a disorderly person at Galion AmVets Post 1979, 420 Harding Way East.

May 7, 227 p.m — A stop sign at the intersection of South and Parson streets. The street department in Galion was notified.

May 7, 9:25 a.m. — A report about a vehicle hitting the Riverside Drive-thru building, 814 Harding Way West was taken. The caller told police there was video of the incident.

May 7, 10 a.m. — A criminal warning was issued to three kids who were hitting playground equipment at East Park with a metal bat.

May 7, 1:06 p.m. — A clogged caused some flooding to a bathroom facility at South Park. No damage was reported.

May 7, 6:26 p.m. — A parent called police to tell them her son had been assaulted in the 500 block of Crew Avenue. She did not want to file charges.
