BUCYRUS — A Crestline man is being held on a $1 million bond after being charged with rape on Monday during an initial appearance in Crawford County Municipal Court.

Nathan S. McIe, 43, 1026 Doris Drive, is facing one count of rape, a first-degree felony. His bond was set by Judge Shane Leuthold, who dubbed McIe “incredibly dangerous to any child.”

Crawford County Assistant Prosecutor Rob Kidd said that the allegation of rape stems from a complaint from the Crestline School District after a student acted strangely on a school bus. An investigation by Crawford County Children Services found that the juvenile victim in the case alleges sexual contact with McIe.

If convicted, McIe faces up to 10 years in prison and will have to register as a Tier III sexual offender.

Leuthold appointed Bucyrus attorney Adam Stone to represent McIe.
