A look back at area football conference seasons

fWith the 2016 High School football regular season over, here is a recap of the action from the teams the Galion Inquirer covers and the leagues in which them are members.

Mid-Ohio Athletic Conference

The MOAC has two divisions. The season still continues on for four teams; the Centerburg Trojans (Blue), the Jonathon Alder Pioneers (Red), the River Valley Vikings (Red) and the Pleasant Spartans (Red). As for how those teams, as well as the rest of the conference did this season, here is the season by the numbers.

BLUE DIVISION

Highland Fighting Scots: finished 7-3 overall and 7-0 in the league, won the division yet missed the playoffs; Points For: 386 Points Against: 198.

Centerburg Trojans: finished 8-2 overall and 6-1 in the league, plays the Fort Frye Cadets (10-0) in the playoffs; Points For: 335 Points Against: 201

Cardington Pirates: finished 7-3 overall and 5-2 in the league; Points For: 444 Points Against: 294

East Knox Bulldogs: finished 6-4 overall and 4-3 in the league; Points For: 220 Points Against: 256

Fredericktown Freddies: finished 4-6 overall and 3-4 in the league; Points For: 237 Points Against: 325

Mount Gilead Indians: finished 4-6 overall and 2-5 in the league; Points For: 322 Points Against: 327

Northmor Golden Knights: finished 1-9 overall and 1-6 in the league; Points For: 184 Points Against: 329

Elgin Comets: finished 0-10 overall and 0-7 in the league; Points For: 178 Points Against: 581

RED DIVISION

Jonathon Alder Pioneers: finished 9-1 overall and 6-1 in the league, plays the Bishop Hartley Hawks (8-2) in the playoffs, won the division; Points For: 338 Points Against: 150

Marion Harding Presidents: finished 5-5 overall and 5-2 in the league; Points For: 290 Points Against: 179

River Valley Vikings: finished 7-3 overall and 5-2 in the league, plays the Indian Lake Lakers (10-0) in the playoffs, only team to beat Alder in the league in the last two seasons; Points For: 297 Points Against: 218

Pleasant Spartans: finished 8-2 overall and 5-2 in the league, plays the Eastwood Eagles (9-1) in the playoffs; Points For: 361 Points Against: 146

North Union Wildcats: finished 6-4 overall and 3-4 in the league; Points For: 248 Points Against: 195

Buckeye Valley Barons: finished 4-6 overall and 3-4 in the league; Points For: 243 Points Against: 222

Galion Tigers: finished 2-8 overall and 1-6 in the league; Points For: 173 Points Against: 385

Fairbanks Panthers: finished 2-8 overall and 0-7 in the league; Points For: 253 Points Against: 363

Northern-10 Athletic Conference

The N-10 football regular season finished up much like many thought that it would. With the Wynford Royals, the Colonel Crawford Eagles and the Seneca East Tigers prolonging their seasons, here is how the conference shaped up this 2016 season.

Wynford Royals: finished 10-0 overall and 8-0 in the league, plays the Gibsonburg Golden Bears (8-2) in the playoffs, won the conference; Points For: 430 Points Against: 107

Colonel Crawford Eagles: finished 8-2 overall and 6-2 in the league, plays the Liberty Center Tigers (9-2) in the playoffs; Points For: 384 Points Against: 205

Seneca East Tigers: finished 8-2 overall and 6-2 in the league, plays the Ayersville Pilots (11-0) in the playoffs; Points For: 395 Points Against: 201;

Carey Blue Devils: finished 6-4 overall and 6-2 in the league; Points For: 312 Points Against: 253;

Mohawk Warrior: finished 6-4 overall and 4-4 in the league; Points For: 239 Points Against: 165;

Upper Sandusky Rams: finished 4-6 overall and 3-5 in the league; Points For: 264 Points Against: 267

Buckeye Central Bucks: finished 2-8 overall and 2-6 in the league; Points For: 167 Points Against: 361

Bucyrus Redmen: finished 1-9 overall and 1-7 in the league; Points For: 200 Points Against: 458

Ridgedale Rockets: finished 0-10 overall and 0-8 in the league; Points For: 44 Points Against: 500

Mid-Buckeye Conference

The Mid-Buckeye is a small four team conference during the football season. With the season over for half of the teams, here is a look into some of the 2016 campaign numbers.

Danville Blue Devils: finished 7-3 overall and 3-0 in the league, plays the East Tartans (10-0) in the playoffs; Points For: 265 Points Against: 143

Lucas Cubs: finished 7-3 overall and 2-1 in the league, plays the Arlington Red Devils (7-3) in the playoffs; Points For: 341 Points Against: 233

Loudonville Redbirds: finished 1-9 overall and 1-2 in the league, only win this season against the Crestline Bulldogs; Points For: 161 Points Against: 317

Crestline Bulldogs: finished 4-6 overall and 0-3 in the league; Points For: 259 Points Against: 278
