CALEDONIA — The Galion Tigers were in Caledonia on Friday night to meet up with Mid-Ohio Athletic Conference rival River Valley

It was homecoming for the Vikings, and they celebrated with a 35-3 victory.

With the loss, Galion drops to 1-6 on the season, 0-4 in MOAC play.

The victory bumped River Valley to 4-3 overall and 2-2 in the conference.

The Tigers offense just couldn’t get things rolling against the Vikings. Dropped passes and penalties thwarted potential big plays and stopped the Tigers from getting any momentum.

Connor Moreton scored the only three points on the night for Galion on a 32-yard field goal in the third quarter. Moreton had a field goal attempt in the second quarter from 39-yards out that was ruled no good by the officiating crew. Freshman Charles Reuer returned the opening kickoff of the second half all the way back for a touchdown, but it was negated by a penalty at midfield.

Galion will be at home next Friday for its annual homecoming game. Their next opponent is Fairbanks. The Panthers lost on Friday  to North Union, 35-31. The Panthers are  2-5 overall and winless in four league games.
