Drugs, sex and thefts fill Common Pleas docket

BUCYRUS — A drug bust and sex crimes topped the list at bond hearings during arraignments in Crawford County Common Pleas Court on Monday.

Samuel L. Shepherd, 35, Bucyrus, pleaded not guilty to multiple drug-related charges, including possession of drugs, a second-degree felony, drug trafficking, fifth-degree felony, and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. His bond was set at $500,000.

Shepherd was arrested on Sept. 23 after officers searched two Bucyrus homes, one at 124 N. Spring St., and one located at 222 1/2 W. Mansfield St. Evidence of drug abuse, drug possession and child endangerment was recovered and officers seized a large quantity of suspected heroin and prescription medication.

Another Bucyrus man is also being held in the Crawford County Justice Center on a $500,000 bond.

Micah L. Hancock, 30, Bucyrus, pleaded not guilty to 10 counts of pandering obscenities to minors, all fourth-degree felonies, and one count of misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.

Renee M. Stratton, 36, Bucyrus, entered a not guilty plea to one count of theft, a fourth-degree felony. She is accused of stealing money from the Bucyrus Elementary PTO (Parents and Teachers Organization) in an amount less than $10,000. Judge Sean Leuthold agreed to release her on a personal recognizance bond.

Others arraigned on Monday include:

Ross O. Craner, 25, Galion, burglary, a second-degree felony, bond set at $150,000.

Shane Shipley, 33, Galion, theft, a fifth-degree felony, bond set at $75,000.

Walter W. Gribble Jr., 53, Shaker Heights, weapons under disability, a third-degree felony, misdemeanor marijuana possession and possession of drug paraphernalia, personal recognizance bond.

Jacob L. Thompson, 24, Bucyrus, failure to comply, a third-degree felony, bond set at $150,000.

Janestreta N. Williams, 32, Bucyrus, aggravated assault, a fourth-degree felony, and misdemeanor domestic violence, personal recognizance bond.

Donald H. McConaughey, 41, Southington, having weapons under disability, a third-degree felony, two counts of possession of drugs, fifth-degree felonies, and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia, personal recognizance bond.

Tiffany M. Eaches, 25, Bucyrus, theft and eight counts of forgery, all fifth-degree felonies, bond set at $100,000.

Rickie J. Earl, 31, Westerville, possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony, bond set at $75,000.

Adrianne R. Seitz, 30, Bucyrus, felonious assault, a second-degree felony, and misdemeanor domestic violence, bond set at $25,000.

Three cases with four total charges have yet to be served or arraigned and remain sealed.
