BUCYRUS — Wynford scored twice in the first quarter Friday night vs. cross-county rival Colonel Crawford, led 21-7 at the intermission and held on for a 28-14 win in a battle of unbeatens.
It was the Eagles first loss. They are 3-1 overall and 2-1 in the N10. The Royals are 4-0 and 3-0.
Wynford is at home next week vs. Mohawk. Colonel Crawford is on the r oad, at Seneca East.
For Colonel Crawford, quarterback Hayden Bute was 2-3 passing. for 67 yards. But one of the receptions was a 64-yard touchdown pass to Quin Seevers in the second quarter.
The Eagles ground game was more impressive Friday. They rushed for 247 yards, led by Blake Treisch, who scored two touchdown and gained 126 on 17 carries. Backing Treisch up was Trevor Shawober, who rused for 87 yards on 16 carries. Bute picked up another 34 yards.
Wynford on the other hand, amassed 379 yards of offense, including 237 on the ground and 142 via the pass.
