According to the Delaware post of the Ohio Highway Patrol, Joshua A. Lawhorn, 36, of Galion, was northbound in the center lane of I-71 in a 2016 GMC Canyon when his vehicle struck a pedestrian, Cody Ann Chrisman, 35, of Ashland.

According to troopers, Chrisman, driving a 2011 Ford Flex, had stopped her vehicle on the right berm of I-71 about 9:45 p.m. Saturday. She attempted to cross the highway on foot, and was struck by Lawhorn’s vehicle, near mile post 125.

Lawhorn and a passenger, Chelsea R. Porter, 23, of Mansfield, were both wearing their safety belts at the time of the crash and were not seriously injured.

No one was jailed or arrested at the accident scene.

A dispatcher with the Delaware post said Monday morning that no charges have been filed and no citations issued, pending the results of toxicology tests.
