Phone calls to 911 lead to felony drug charges

BUCYRUS — Bonds were set on Friday for a Bucyrus man and woman arrested on drug charges on Thursday evening.

Jaclyn Danielle Fisher, 36, and Logan A. Beeman, 24, are being held in the Crawford County Justice Center on $100,000 bonds each after appeared before Judge Shane Leuthold in Crawford County Municipal Court on Friday afternoon.

The pair was arrested after police received a 911 call at a residence in the 1000 block of Winchester Avenue at 10:30 p.m. Thursday referencing a drug overdose. Beeman was revived by EMS personnel with the drug Narcan that counters the effects of opiates.

Fisher and Beeman are charged with possession of heroin, a fifth-degree felony. Fisher is also facing one count of permitting drug abuse, one misdemeanor charge of possession of drugs, possession of drug abuse instruments and possession of drug paraphernalia.

According to Bucyrus Police Chief Dave Koepke, a third person present at the residence at the time of the incident may be facing charges as well.

Fisher and Beeman are scheduled for preliminary hearings in Municipal Court on Sept. 2. Their cases may be bound over to the September session of the Crawford County Grand Jury for indictments in Common Pleas Court.

Another Bucyrus couple, Curtis and Melissa Cannon, also face possession of drug charges after police officers responded with Life Support Team Ambulance and Bucyrus Fire to the 200 block of Wayne Avenue for a reported drug overdose at 12:04 a.m. Sunday. Curtis and Melissa Cannon were treated at the scene for opiate overdoses.

Bond was set in the amount of $50,000 each for the Cannons in Municipal Court on Monday. Their cases are also set for preliminary hearings but may be bound over to the Crawford County Grand Jury for charges in Common Pleas Court.
