GALION — For 26 years, Ohio Door and Sash on South Street was owned and operated by Marvin Heinberger, but a little over a month ago, Ray Jones took over.

Jones had been purchasing doors, windows and other building materials from the business for his own home remodeling business.

“I have known Marvin for quite a while and purchased products from him for my business. One day, he said something about me buying the business from him. At first, I thought he was joking, but clearly, he was serious,” said Jones with a smile.

The business, at 120 South St., offers all types of interior and exterior doors including custom-made doors, screen and patio doors and garage doors, replacement and new construction windows of all sizes and shapes, hardware for doors, window screens and even custom-made kitchen and bathroom cabinets and countertops.

“This business has been here for a really long time yet a lot of people do not realize we are here,” Jones said.

Jones said he offers not only the products people need for their homes and businesses, but the installation of all products as well.

“I use contractors to complete the installations and need more them. Local contractors looking for work should contact me,” Jones said.

Jones said he employs two people currently in the store and shop.

“Ray Myers has been here 22 years and he creates all of the custom-made doors that our customers order,” Jones said.

Lisa Hagel worked part-time at the business for the past year in the office.

“I have been working full-time since Ray took over,” Hagel said.

Jones said he loves working with people.

“I like what I do and the people I get to work with. Our customers are the best,” Jones said.

Ohio Door and Sash is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
