Avita Health System honored approximately 1,400 employees this week for National Healthcare Week, the Nation’s largest event, through a variety of special activities targeted to foster gratitude for employee dedication and sacrifice. Healthcare Week is a time-honored event and is celebrated across the United States in appreciation of healthcare workers who keep communities healthy.

“National Hospital Week is a celebration of people,” comments Jerry Morasko, CEO and President of Avita Health System. “We value each member of our staff and recognize the important roles they have in providing excellent healthcare in our area. Although we strive to thank our employees all year long, this annual event inspires us to get creative and go the extra mile.”

This year’s Hospital Week theme is “Healthcare from the Heart”. The theme hopes to send a message that a hospital is more than a place where people go to heal. A hospital is a part of the community that fosters health and represents hope. From providing treatment and comfort to the sick, to welcoming new life into the world, hospitals are central to a healthy community.

“We hope to reassure every employee that they are vital to our health system,” comments Traci Oswald, Vice President of Human Resources for Avita.
