For the Week of April 25

ASHLAND COUNTY

State Route 89

SR 89, just north of Polk, is reduced to one lane of traffic as part of a resurfacing project between US Route 42 and State Route 58. One lane of two-way traffic will be maintained with flaggers at all times. The project is expected to be complete in September 2016.

State Route 97

SR 97, just west of Township Road 1059 to just west of State Route 3, is closed for multiple culvert replacements. Crews will start from the west and work their way east. Each culvert should take approximately 5 business days, weather permitting. ODOT crews will install orange advance road closure signs at the location of each culvert prior to construction. The detour route for eastbound motorists is SR 97 to SR 95, northeast on SR 95 to SR 39, east on SR 39 to SR 3, southwest on SR 3 to SR 97, and reverse for westbound motorists. The road is expected to reopen May 20, 2016.

US Route 250

US 250, between the Wayne County line and Township Road 653, is reduced to one lane of traffic as part of a resurfacing project. The resurfacing will start at the Wayne County line and continue west to Township Road 653. One lane of two-way traffic will be maintained at all times with flaggers. Weather permitting, the work is expected to be complete in August 2016.

CRAWFORD COUNTY

State Route 61/309

SR 61/309 (Portland Way South) is closed by the City of Galion for road repairs. The detour route for northbound motorists is SR 288 east to SR 19 north, SR 309/19 (Winchester Rd) to SR 598, and reverse for southbound motorists. The project is expected to be complete in July 2016.

ERIE COUNTY

State Route 2

SR 2, from Frailey Road in Erie County to Baumhart Road in Lorain County, is reduced to one lane of traffic in each direction as work resumes for bridge repairs at several locations. One lane of traffic will be maintained at all times in each direction. The project will be complete in September 2016.

State Route 4

SR 4, at its intersection with Strub Road, has intermittent shoulder closures as part of an intersection improvement project. Crews are removing trees at this time, while the majority of construction work will begin in mid-May. The project is expected to be complete in July 2016.

US Route 250

US 250 has intermittent lane restrictions for excavation work as part of a corridor improvement project between Bogart Road and Sycamore Line Road. Bogart Road, east of US Route 250, is closed. Work includes widening the intersection and replacing a culvert east of US 250. The road is expected to reopen July 4. Crews are working in various areas along the route, and specific project work can be found online at transportation.ohio.gov/250. The project carries a completion date of September 2016.

HURON COUNTY

State Route 162

SR 162, just east of Clinton Street in the Village of New London, is closed for railroad crossing repairs. The detour route for eastbound motorists is SR 162 to US 250, southeast on US 250 to US 224, east on US 224 to SR 60, north on SR 60 to SR 162, and reverse for westbound motorists. The road is expected to reopen April 29, 2016.

LORAIN COUNTY

State Route 2

SR 2, between the Ohio Turnpike/Interstate 90 split and Middle Ridge Road, is reduced to narrowed lanes of traffic for a major bridge rehabilitation project in a contraflow traffic pattern. Motorists are encouraged to use extreme caution while navigating this work zone and watch for slower moving traffic as it merges in to an open lane. The project is expected to be complete in October 2016.

State Route 57

SR 57 in the Village of Grafton, just north of Becker Street, is closed for railroad repairs. The detour route for northbound motorists is SR 57 to SR 83, north on SR 83 to SR 82, west on SR 82 to SR 57, and reverse for southbound motorists. The road is expected to reopen April 29, 2016.

State Route 83

SR 83, at its bridge over the Ohio Turnpike, is reduced to one lane of traffic and controlled by a traffic signal by the Ohio Turnpike and Infrastructure Commission for a part-width bridge deck replacement. The travel lane is restricted to 10 feet wide through the construction zone. The project is expected to be complete in June 2016.

State Route 113

SR 113, just east of Township Road 66 (Dean Road) to just west of Township Road 47 (Baird Road), is closed for two culvert replacements. The detour route for eastbound motorists is SR 113 to SR 60, north on SR 60 to SR 2, east on SR 2 to Baumhart Road, south on Baumhart Rd to SR 113, and reverse for westbound motorists. The road is expected to reopen May 9, 2016.

State Route 301

SR 301, just north of Railroad Street, is closed for railroad crossing repairs. The detour route for northbound motorists is SR 301 to SR 18, east on SR 18 to SR 83, north on SR 83 to SR 303, west on SR 303 to SR 301, and reverse for southbound motorists. The road is expected to reopen April 29, 2016.

State Route 611 (Henderson Memorial Bridge)

SR 611, at the Henderson Memorial Bridge, is reduced to one lane of traffic in each direction for bridge repairs. During this phase of the project, two-way traffic will be maintained on the northbound lanes and restricted to 11 feet lane widths through the construction zone. Work will continue on the project through October 2016.

Parsons Road (Township Road 15)

Township Road 15 (Parsons Road), just east of Hale Road, is closed for a bridge replacement project. The detour route for eastbound motorists is Parsons Road to West Road, south on West Road to Kipton Nickle Plate Road, east on Kipton Nickle Plate Road to Nickle Plate Diagonal Road, north on Nickle Plate Diagonal Road to Parsons Road, and reverse for westbound motorists. The road is expected to reopen May 23, 2016.

MEDINA COUNTY

US Route 42 (Pearl Road)

US 42 (Pearl Road), at its intersection with Fenn Road, is restricted to narrower lane widths as part of an intersection improvement project. Lane widths are 10 feet on Fenn Road and 11 feet on Pearl Road. Left turn lanes on both Pearl and Fenn Roads are restricted to 10 feet. Weather permitting, this phase of the project is expected to be complete in late June. Work will continue on the project through October 2016.

State Route 57/Interstate 71

SR 57, at its bridge over Interstate 71, is reduced to one lane of traffic for bridge repairs. One lane of two-way traffic will be maintained with flaggers. This work will also require lane restrictions on Interstate 71 as needed, and two lanes of I-71 will be maintained during the daytime work hours at all times in each direction. This work is expected to be complete in May 2016.

State Route 252 ***NEW***

SR 252, between Law Road and Neff Road, will close Monday, April 25 for a culvert replacement. The detour route for southbound motorists is SR 252 to SR 303, west on SR 303 to SR 57, southeast on SR 57 to SR 252, and reverse for northbound motorists. The road is expected to reopen April 29, 2016.

RICHLAND COUNTY

Interstate 71

I-71, at various bridges from County Road 285 to SR 13, will have intermittent lane closures for bridge repairs. Two lanes of I-71 will be maintained at all times during daytime hours. One lane of traffic will be maintained at night Monday through Thursday, 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. The work is expected to be complete in June 2016.

State Routes 39, 61 & 96

Within the City of Shelby, State Route 39, State Route 61 and State Route 96 are being resurfaced as part of an urban paving project. The resurfacing will start at the north end of SR 61 and continue to the south end of SR 61 to SR 314. One lane of two-way traffic will be maintained at all times with flaggers. Weather permitting, the work is expected to be complete in June 2016.

State Route 97 ***NEW***

SR 97, at its interchange with Interstate 71, is reduced to narrowed lanes of traffic for a minor widening project. During this phase of the project, one lane of traffic will be maintained in each direction and restricted to 10 feet lane widths with flaggers. The project is expected to be complete in September 2016.

State Route 430

SR 430, between Interstate 71 and State Route 603, is reduced to one lane of traffic for a resurfacing project. One lane of two-way traffic will be maintained at all times with flaggers. The project will be complete in June 2016.

State Route 603

SR 603, between Alfre Lane and Kaster Road, is closed for the replacement of two culverts. The detour route for northbound motorists is SR 603 to SR 13, north on SR 13 to US 224, west on US 224 to SR 61, south on SR 61 to SR 603. The detour route for southbound motorists is SR 603 to SR 61, south on SR 61 to SR 96, east on SR 96 to SR 13, north on SR 13 to SR 603. The road is expected to reopen April 29, 2016.

WAYNE COUNTY

State Route 21

SR 21, from the Stark County line to the Summit County line, is reduced to one lane of traffic for work as part of a spot pavement repair project. One lane of traffic will be maintained in each direction at all times. The project is expected to be complete in September 2016.
