Stinehour newest member of Veterans Service Commission

The Crawford County Veterans Service Office recently appointed a new member to the Crawford County Veterans Service Commission.

Jon D. Stinehour began his term and is a representative of the VFW on the Commission. He is an honorably discharged veteran, serving in the U.S. Army from 1989 to 1992. He was appointed to the Crawford County Veterans Service Commission for a term of five years beginning Jan. 15 and ending on Jan. 14, 2021.

Stinehour replaces Robert A. Gobrecht as the VFW representative on the Commission. Gobrecht had represented the VFW on the Crawford County Veterans Service Commission from Sept. 19, 2012, to Jan. 14, 2016, filling the unexpired term of Donald D. Diosi Sr. Gobrecht is also an honorably discharged veteran of the US Army, serving during from April 10, 1968, to April 9, 1970.

The other members of the Crawford County Veterans Service Commission are Larry J. Patton, representing the Army-Navy Union; the Commission’s President, Kenneth E. Swain, representing the AMVETS; the Commission’s Vice-President Alan E. Young, representing the DAV and the Commission’s Secretary and Mr. James E. Greter, representing the American Legion as a Commission Member.

The Crawford County Veterans Service Commission’s offices are located at 112 E. Mansfield St., Suite 95, in Bucyrus. They provide assistance to veterans and their dependents in filing for a wide variety of Federal and State benefits, as well as provide transportation to the VA medical center in Cleveland.
