Friday truck fire at oil well injures one

A truck fire at an oil well off State Route 61 south of Mt. Gilead injured the truck’s driver and completely destroyed the vehicle Friday, Sept. 26, 2014.A call went out about 12:20 p.m. for an oil truck fire on a Lincoln Twp. property belonging to the LaRoche family north of State Route 529. The tank of the the truck was reported to be filled with a flammable substance and still ‘connected’ to the oil well.Morrow County Emergency Management Director Joe Edwards was among the first on the scene and reported the vehicle was fully involved upon his arrival. The fire was contained to the truck and allowed to burn itself out.
