GALION — The Galion High School Performing Arts department will present its performance of “Alice in Wonderland, Jr.” April 7, 8 and 9. All performances will take place at the uptown Galion Community Theater.

The show is a familiar tale of a little girl who chases a white rabbit down a hole that leads to Wonderland, where Alice discovers a place that she describes as’curiouser’ and ‘curiouser’, full of odd creatures like dodos, mad hatters and march hares. The Cheshire cat sums it all up saying, “we’re all a little mad here”.

“This is a delightfully fun show that our students will enjoy performing and the audience will enjoy watching,” said GHS teacher and director Cheri Laughbaum. “This year’s show features 23 students from eighth through twelfth grade. Actors, lighting, sound, backstage, and the assistant directors are all current Galion students, and they all are working hard to prepare for this performance.”

Show times are 7 p.m. April 7 and 8, and 2 p.m. April 9. Tickets are $10 each and go on sale March 15. Doors open at 6:15 p.m. April 7 and 8, and reopen at 1:15 p.m. for the show April 9.

Tickets can be reserved and paid for by using a credit or debit card on the Galion Community theatre website, www.galiontheatre.org, under the Alice in Wonderland event. Tickets can also be reserved by calling Amy Jarvis at 419-563-5805. No tickets will be reserved until after March 15.

“I am excited to see this spring’s musical and am incredibly proud of Mrs. Laughbaum and the high school students involved in this production,” said Superintendent Jim Grubbs. “The Performing Arts Department does an outstanding job preparing our students for their performances, and I know this spring’s show will be another quality event.”
