Program to discuss Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Diana Sharp, Lead Case Manager with the Region 5 Breast and Cervical Cancer Screening Project (BCCP), will be speak 6:30 p.m. Oct. 20 at the Crestline Public Library, part of their adult programming in observance of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

BCCP offers free medical services to women in the North Central Ohio area if they:

· Live in a household with limited income

· Are without health insurance

· Are 40 years of age or older

Women who have been screened through BCCP that are found to need treatment for breast cancer, cervical cancer or pre-cancerous conditions will be covered by BCCP Medicaid for their cancer treatment and other healthcare needs.

Sharp will be on hand to answer questions and to discuss the importance of annual screening for breast and cervical cancer. Her talk will focus on the importance of early detection and how women may enroll in the BCCP program.
