September is almost here and with it comes the early hunting seasons. One that I really anticipate is the early teal season. Along with the early goose season, it is a prelude of hopefully many successful duck hunts to come in the next few months.

In too many communities in Ohio, big outside investors funded by Wall Street are buying up homes that could have gone to first-time homebuyers.

The Ohio Department of Natural Resources Division of Wildlife and the National Shooting Sports Foundation are partnering to host Free Range Day at five of Ohio’s premier public shooting ranges on Saturday, Aug. 19. On-site staff will provide equipment, ammunition, ear protection, and eye protection.

The perch bite is starting to heat up in the western basin of Lake Erie. Perch is one of my favorite table fares and perch fishing can be a fun way to spend a day on the water. Lake Erie is full of perch but these tasty guys can be found in many inland lakes as well.

But as anyone in the agriculture community already knows, borrowing needs can still arise well after seeds have been put in the ground.
