SHELBY — At the June Pioneer Career and Technology Center Board of Education meeting, the following actions were adopted:
Galion City Schools announces administrative changes
As the Galion City School District welcomes a new superintendent, Dr. Jeffery Hartmann, other key administrators will transition to new roles within the district as well.
GOAL graduates 2023 class
GOAL Digital Academy’s graduation ceremony took place at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, May 19, at the Mid-Ohio Conference Center in Mansfield. The 2023 GOAL graduating class consisted of 113 students. Before the ceremony began, guests viewed a video presentation that featured the graduates expressing their gratitude for GOAL and those that inspired them toward academic success.
Colonel Crawford students recognized
Three Colonel Crawford High School seniors and family members were guests of the Colonel Crawford Lions at its April dinner meeting. The students were honored as Colonel Crawford Lions students of the month. Each received a commemorative certificate and a check for $100.
Pioneer to host STEAM camp
Registration for the Pioneer STEAM Summer Camp is now open. The Pioneer Career and Technology Center is hosting a summer camp for students entering fourth through sixth grade, which will be held June 12-15 at the Pioneer Campus, located at 27 Ryan Road in Shelby.
Hartmann to lead Galion City Schools
Galion City Schools has chosen its next superintendent, the district has announced. During a May 16 meeting of the Board of Education, a contract was offered to Dr. Jeffrey Hartmann to assume the superintendent rule vacated by Jennifer Allerding following her resignation.
Seniors honored at PCTC
SHELBY — On Friday, May 12, two Senior Moments sessions were held in Pioneer Arena to honor the Pioneer Career and Technology (PCTC)’s senior students. One session was held in the morning for half of the seniors and another in the afternoon for the remaining seniors.
OSBA launches Get on Board campaign
The Ohio School Boards Association (OSBA) recently launched its Get on Board campaign, designed to encourage Ohioans from all walks of life to consider serving on their local boards of education. Ohio provides high-quality education to all students through representative school boards that can meet the challenges of the diverse districts they represent.
Pioneer BOE discusses year-end activities
SHELBY — The Pioneer Career and Technology Center Board of Education met on Monday, May 15, to discuss its year-end activities. At its awards assembly, over $2 million in scholarships were awarded to the students.
Galion boosting school safety efforts
Galion City Schools believes in providing a supportive, socially conscious, safe, and respectful environment that cultivates learners of tomorrow. Through the ongoing efforts to prioritize safety and improve its current procedures, the district has made significant progress toward the safety objectives outlined in its strategic plan.
