Kent State Spring 2014 Commencement Lists Now Available


KENT, Ohio – Kent State University recently conferred degrees to Spring graduates during commencement exercises May 9 and 10 in the Memorial Athletic and Convocation Center on the Kent Campus. The university awarded 738 associate degrees, 2557 bachelor’s degrees and 827 graduate degrees to students.

OXFORD, OH — Miami University awarded degrees to students during spring commencement exercises Saturday, May 17, 2014, in Yager Stadiium. Students with more than one listing have earned additional degrees or honors.

Miami University Student Brittany Utz Named To Dean’s List


OXFORD, OH — Brittany Utz of Galion was named to the Miami University spring 2014 dean’s list. Miami University students who ranked in the top 20 percent of undergraduate students within each division for first semester 2013-2014 have been named to the dean’s list recognizing academic performance.


Andrew Clinger graduates from basic infantry training


Army Pfc. Andrew C. Clinger has graduated from basic infantry training at Fort Benning, Columbus, Ga.


During the nine weeks of training, the soldier received training in drill and ceremonies, weapons, map reading, tactics, military courtesy, military justice, physical fitness, first aid, and Army history, core values and traditions. Additional training included development of basic combat skills and battlefield operations and tactics, and experiencing use of various weapons and weapons defenses available to the infantry crewman.


Clinger is the son of Dawne L. Helvie of Lexington, Ky. and Craig G. Clinger of Galion, Ohio. He is a 2003 graduate of Galion High School, Galion, Ohio. He earned an associate degree in 2005 from North Central State College, Mansfield, Ohio.
