ALICE instructor training offered at Mid-Ohio ESC

MANSFIELD—Area law enforcement officers, as well as school, church, hospital and workplace administrators and employees, are encouraged to register for a two-day ALICE instructor training course to be held at Mid-Ohio Educational Service Center.

ALICE, which stands for Alert, Lockdown, Inform, Counter, Evacuate, is a set of proactive strategies that increase chances of survival during an armed intruder event.

In the advanced ALICE training course, attendees receive instruction and materials to help increase their organization’s preparedness in the event of an active shooter situation. Once an attendee becomes a certified training partner, he or she will be able to train their home organization. Local law enforcement officers may train all public organizations in their community.

The ALICE instructor course will be held on Monday, June 23, and Tuesday, June 24, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Mid-Ohio ESC, 890 West Fourth Street in Mansfield. Registration cost is $495 per person.
